Bingene Armenteros

CHIEF CURATOR

Bingene Armenteros is the Chief Curator of Arte Berri. As Chief Curator she has been able to inject new and refreshing works of art never before seen in the country by exhibiting pieces created by masters such as Damie Hirst, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Roberto Matta, Pablo Atchugarry, and Julio Larraz among others. Another highly important facet of my mission for Arte Berri is to expose emerging Latin American artists such as José Pelletier, Marcos Guerra, Angel Urrely, and more whose works I hope will inspire the Dominican public and broaden the community’s appreciation for all art and artists, not just the best known. She is also curator and member of the jury of Premio Diario Libre Arte Contemporaneo.

Bingene Armenteros created the Premio Diario Libre an innovative awards aimed to promote and discover emerging talents. She was invited to participate as a juror of the XXVII Fine Arts Biennial of the Dominican Republic. She has also given several lectures at Arte Berri and other artistic institutions. She has her own blog yoyarte.com, writes for Mujer Unica and has been published in several local newspapers.

She is Vice President and acting member of Asociación Dominicana de Críticos de Arte/Asociación Internacional de Críticos de Arte. (ADCA/AICA) won the Art Critics Award in 2012.
